Indianapolis, IN – Teenage Girl Critically Injured in West Side Crash

Teenage Girl Critically Injured in West Side Crash

Indianapolis, Indiana (July 21, 2026) – A teenage girl was critically injured Tuesday night when the vehicle she was riding in left the roadway and struck a tree on the west side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 600 block of North Country Club Road, near Rockville Road. Three teenage girls were inside the vehicle.

Emergency crews worked to free occupants from the wreck before taking them for medical treatment. IMPD said the driver submitted to a chemical test and showed no signs of intoxication.

This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.

A crash that leaves one teenager critically hurt changes an entire circle of friends and family overnight.

Car Accidents in Indiana

When a single-vehicle crash puts a passenger in critical condition, the driver, a road hazard, or even a vehicle defect can all factor into who’s responsible for the harm.

  • See a doctor right away, even if injuries aren’t immediately obvious after a crash like this.
  • Avoid giving a statement to an insurance company before speaking with an attorney.
  • Preserve the vehicle, the roadway conditions, and any photos or video from the scene.
  • Don’t accept a settlement offer until an attorney has reviewed the case.

Indiana follows a modified comparative fault rule. A passenger’s own actions, if any, are weighed against the driver’s, but recovery is only barred if the injured person is found more than 50% at fault. Under Indiana law, injury claims must generally be filed within two years of the crash (IC 34-11-2-4). For this crash, that deadline falls on July 21, 2028.
