Fishers, IN (August 18, 2026) – Just before 9:45 p.m. on August 18, Indiana State Police began receiving calls reporting a body on the right shoulder of I-69 northbound, just south of Exit 210 in Fishers.
Troopers arrived and found the remains of an adult male, later identified as 36-year-old Gregory Christopher II of Parker City. He was pronounced dead at the scene, ISP said.
A preliminary investigation indicates Christopher had a flat tire on his van and was struck by a northbound vehicle while working on it. The driver did not remain at the scene, according to ISP.
Investigators believe the van may have been stopped on the shoulder for nearly 45 minutes before the first 911 calls came in. ISP is asking drivers who traveled I-69 near mile marker 209 between 8:45 and 9:45 p.m. that night to preserve any dashcam footage and contact investigators.
