Indianapolis, IN (August 12, 2026) – A woman died, and several other people were hurt in a head-on crash on Indianapolis’ south side Wednesday morning, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers responded around 7:40 a.m. on August 12 to the 5400 block of State Road 135 at East Epler Avenue, in the Perry Township area south of I-465. Police said the head-on collision involved a 2017 Honda sedan and a 2011 Cadillac SUV, with multiple people suffering severe injuries.
All of the people involved were taken to local hospitals in various conditions, IMPD said. One victim, an adult woman, died from her injuries just before 11 a.m. Her identity has not yet been released. Police have not said how many other people were hurt or released details about their conditions.
